Bio

Born and raised in upstate New York, Zachary Wilson graduated from Purchase College SUNY in 2012 with a Bachelor's of Music degree in classical trumpet performance, magna cum laude. Zachary has performed in some of the world's finest concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Seiji Ozawa Hall, and Dvorák Hall (Prague). Under the batons of Michael Adelson, Ransom Wilson, George Manahan, Hugh Murphy, and others, he performed as solo principal trumpet with the Purchase Symphony Orchestra in Stravinsky's Petrouchka (1947) and Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker with the Purchase Dance Corps, as well as many other full scale symphonic and operatic works. He can also be heard on the Purchase Opera's world premier recording of Confession, the critically acclaimed opera by Raphaël Lucas. A founding member of the Parallel Brass Quintet, he performed regularly with the Purchase Symphonic Brass and Symphonic Winds, and was a member of the New York Youth Symphony during its 2009-2010 season. Zachary enjoys performing a wide variety of solo repertoire ranging from the baroque to modern eras and has performed numerous wedding and church ceremonies around the tri-state area.
